What is a social contract and why does it matter?
Pflugerville schools are helping students succeed by creating a set of norms that we mutually agree to follow in order to make school a better place to be for both teachers and students. Teachers receive training in a district wide program called Capturing Kid's Hearts.
As a class we will create something called a Social Contract that will help us treat each other with respect and care. Because it is a contract it will keep all of us accountable for following it no matter what. In other words it is a promise we agree to keep and if it is broken we have fair consequences.
We'll watch this video below to better understand the concept and then we will start the process of creating a social contract for our class.
